Deirdre arrived in Sioux Falls in July 2021 from Brooklyn, New York. Despite a growing interest in sustainability, she quickly learned her limitations here. As an apartment resident, there is no option to recycle food scraps or compost. The absence led her to creating her own solution — SoDak Compost.

Raised in Sioux Falls, Carlos has a strong connection to nature and is passionate about the power of composting. Carlos is dedicated to educating and engaging the community on the benefits of turning food "waste" into a valuable resource for our earth. His work as a community composter not only supports environmental sustainability but also fosters a stronger, more connected community.
